Interview With Celebrity Makeup Artist, Lina Zuniga

If you guys haven't heard the name Lina Zuniga yet I don't know what to tell you. This chick is making some serious moves in the beauty industry and she is doing it all on her own. I am happy to be interviewing my childhood friend since the 3rd grade and get a deeper look into her brand.

EJ: Who is Lina?

LZ: Lina is a Mother, a Student of Life, a God fearing woman, and an entrepreneur. In that order :)

EJ: When did you first realize you wanted to be a makeup artist?

LZ: I fell in love with makeup when I was 18. I was working at a prestigious bank in Bal Harbour and just had my son. I felt overweight and just didn't feel pretty, so I started playing with makeup. I had a natural knack for it and became obsessed with learning on Youtube. However, I didn't realize I wanted to pursue it as a career until many years later when I was laid off from my corporate job.

EJ: Can you say working for yourself and your brand is hard and time consuming?

LZ: It's the most difficult and time consuming thing of all (yet rewarding) especially in this day and age with social media and the beauty and technological trends continuously evolving.

EJ: Which celebrities have you worked on thus far?

LZ: Ashanti, Cardi B, Becky G, Natti Natasha, LeToya Luckett, etc.

EJ: I know Jlo is your favorite. Do you still want to work on her? lol

LZ: Not sure what you mean by "favorite".  I Admire Jlo as a powerful Latina Woman. She's beautiful and a strong business woman and I would love to follow her footsteps. Sure I would love to do her makeup, however my "favorite" most inspiring woman that I  would jump at the opportunity to glam is Alicia Keys.

EJ: What pushes you everyday?

LZ: The fact that abundance is my birthright. While I'm on this earth I will have everything I ever wanted and worked hard for. Which is wealth, health, and financial freedom for myself, my son, and my family. When you have that kind of faith, nothing can stop you.

EJ: Has social media made it easier for you to promote your brand?

LZ: Social media is a gift and a curse haha. But yes, definitely important for becoming a known makeup artist and very helpful in attracting new customers.

EJ: What advice do you have for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the beauty industry?

LZ: Fall in love with the art and the process. Success will follow. Practice your ass off.

EJ: Tell us about your product line and where it is available for purchase.

LZ: I started Lina Zuniga Makeup back in 2018 with my 3D Mink Lash Collection (Cruelty-Free). I'm excited to announce that we have just launched a new product, "The Makeup Hand Palette" which is a hands-free solution for mixing cosmetic creams and liquids without those messy stains on the back of your hands! We are expecting this to be a hot trending item since the beauty industry hasn't seen anything like it. You can purchase both at www.LinaZunigaMakeup.com

I hope you all enjoyed this interview. Show some love in the comments :)
